„You’re only as old as you feel“. From that perspective NO SPORTS feel like „newly born“

in the year of their 30th anniversary. Founded in 1985 the band went through many

changes and metamorphoses, even renaming to NU SPORTS from 2004 until 2012, but

they are still alive and kicking. In a brand new line up forming around the founder and

singer, songwriter and guitarist D. Mark Dollar (D.M.$) they prove that neither SKA itself

nor the band has become frumpy. On the contrary they are raring to go and, what NO

SPORTS was always known for, more than open for new ideas and interpretations of the

genre. But of course feeling equally committed to tradition and the roots of their beloved

music they are still burning down a musical firework in every live show and fun is just one

factor to be guaranteed.

„Du bist nur so alt, wie du dich fühlst.“ Aus dieser Perspektive fühlt sich NO SPORTS im

Jahr ihres 35jährigen Jubiläums wie „neu geboren“. Gegründet 1985 hat die Band viele

Veränderungen und Metamorphosen durchlaufen, von 2004 bis 2012 sogar eine

Umbenennung in NU SPORTS, aber sie sind immer noch am Leben. In einer brandneuen

Besetzung um den Gründer, Sänger, Songwriter und Gitarrist Michael „D. Mark Dollar

(D.M.$)“ Friedrich beweisen sie, dass weder SKA selbst noch die Band „out“ sind. Im

Gegenteil, sie sind unerschrocken und, wofür NO SPORTS schon immer bekannt war,

mehr als offen für neue Ideen und Interpretationen des Genres. Und natürlich fühlen sie

sich der Tradition und den Wurzeln ihrer geliebten Musik gleichermaßen verpflichtet und

brennen in jeder Live-Show ein musikalisches Feuerwerk ab. Und Spaß ist dabei nur ein

Faktor, der absolut garantiert ist.
